Misty and Allen get married!!

And it poured!! and poured!!! and poured!!! It rained all day long! Misty and Allen were married in Valdosta! It was good to be back where it all started for me. It had been a while. We met up with Misty while she was getting ready at the Scruggs Farm, where her wedding was taking place. And here we go!

Checking out Misty!

Just love this shot!

Her jewelry, or at least part of it.

Some quick bridal pics before she heads down to see Allen.

First time he gets to see her!

Some quick dry images of the two of them together!

Decor shots of the reception tent.

Right before walking down the aisle.  Couldn’t resist, she looks good wherever she goes.

The little moments before her Dad walks her down the aisle are some of my favorites.

Who doesn’t love this shot?

During the ceremony, it was pretty tight.  Even with the torrential downpour, they had a tremendous showing.

Rain, rain, rain!

Love what Dawn did to this first dance picture.

She was awesome.

My High School history teacher!  I loved this guy.

That’s my buddy Clay beside Misty.  Love him, too!

And they’re off!

And here’s the video slideshow!!

Susan and Joseph!!!! Wahoo!

Next up is Susan and Joseph’s wedding!!  They got married in Savannah, GA at the Roundhouse Railroad Museum.  That was pretty awesome.  First though, they got ready at The Mansion on Forsyth!  That’s where Ill start with them.

We ended up in the bathroom, because their room wasn’t ready.

Susan on the toilet!!  Love this!

Picture time for Susan and Joseph!

On our way to take portraits in Forsyth!

Joseph wouldn’t get off his cell phone, so we all joined in!

Love notes

Susan in one of the train cars.

He loves his daddy!

So cute!

Giant Jenga!!

Love Polaroid!!

More toys for the reception.

The ceremony, loved this venue!!

And they’re married!

Some of the reception decor.

It’s Toole Time!!

I dig this moment.  No flash, almost completely dark.  Love this camera.

Joseph using the makeshift Polaroid photo booth!

This was how they made their exit!  One of the coolest exits ever!!!

And now for the slideshow!

Lisa and Calder at Barnsley Gardens!!

What a great day!!  We had never gotten to shoot at Barnsley Gardens before and now we can’t wait to get back there.  Everything was awesome, the venue, the staff and the wedding!  I even had some grand ideas for some shots at night (of course!!) and I was hoping that I would get the chance to do them!

Loving the dress at the ruins.  This venue is incredible, filled with awesome locations to do shots.  Not enough time during a wedding to try them all.

Getting ready.

Lisa has a very special relationship with her grandmother, I loved being there for these images.

Writing out a card to Lisa before the ceremony.

After reading Calder’s card to her.

Love the way this works.

Watching Lisa get ready.

Edge Design’s work at the ceremony site!

That awesome moment immediately following the ceremony.

Edge Design did such an incredible job at this wedding, I can’t wait to work with them again.

First dance.

Love the emotion from this FOB speech.

The exit.

Immediately after the ceremony, I snuck up behind them.  Unfortunately, I fell into some bushes and they realized I was there!

Surreal.

I could just eat this image up!

I love that late afternoon sunlight, it makes such beautiful images.

300 candles, 8 people furiously lighting them and 2 very willing models to make something incredible!!

Amber and Bobby’s wedding!

We got to photograph Amber and Bobby in Miami in November for their wedding. Dawn and I traveled down there, Kristen was shooting a wedding in Atlanta that day, so we were on our own. I love photographing in Miami, I always have. It thrilled me that last year, I got to do it twice! So it was an easy day, everything was quite well-planned out by Sandy from A List Events!!  They got ready at a hotel and then went to the Rusty Pelican for the ceremony and the reception.

I like to snoop at weddings and while I was snooping I found this card that he had written to her.

From the hotel balcony, what a beautiful day!

We had some time to be able to do some cool shots of Amber in the courtyard of the hotel.

On the outside wall of the hotel.

In this neat little breezeway thing!

Love this one!

Inside the side entrance of the hotel.

On the stairway of the , yeah I think you know!

Bobby waiting while we get ready to head out to the ceremony.

This is the view from the Rusty Pelican.  Pretty cool, right?  Can anyone spot the airplane?

Amber pulls up in the limo to be greeted by her doggie.

Another view of the marina from the Rusty Pelican.

And the ceremony begins…

The view from the patio area where they are getting married.  Check out the wicked sun rays!

Inside the reception ballroom.

The ceremony ended and we had some time to grab some shots of Amber and Bobby together.  The wind was ridiculous, but it felt good.  A nice break from the Georgia heat.

Now for the first dance!

A neat reaction during one of the toasts.

Time to dance!

Libby and Sloan get married!

Libby and Sloan got married on a very warm day in October at HoneyLake Plantation in FL!  This is such a great venue with lots of great locations to create images.  They had a very laid back, easy going wedding.  We enjoyed the pace of this one since so many others that I had done lately had been fast paced.  Beautiful day to have a wedding, but in my opinion, it could have been 20 or 30 degrees colder.  :-)

One of my favorite shots of the day.

Can’t remember what Libby was sad about, but it must have been pretty sad.

Love this shot of Libby.

Sisters!!

Decor shots from the reception.

Cupcakes!

Daddy walking Libby down the aisle.

And now they’re married.

Ringing the bell.  She was so excited about this part of the day.

Shots together at sunset.

Check out that sky.

Going for the grab!

1st dance…

Father Daughter dance!

Gotta love these cupcakes!

I love emotion, it doesn’t always have to be crying, but it makes nice shots.

Let the dancing begin…

One of the last shots of the night was a distant thunderstorm over this lake.  Gorgeous!!

Nisha and Boxy’s wedding!!

So the same weekend that we were photographing Crystal’s wedding , we were also photographing Nina’s.  Kristen shot the main day of the wedding, quite fabulously mind you, and after Crystal’s wedding was over, at about midnight, I came over and helped to finish up with Nisha and Boxy!  There were too many images to pick out for the blog post so please take a look at the slideshow at the end of this post so you can see a few more.  I wish I could post them all.

Boxy looks concerned, right?

Here’s why!

All cleaned up.

Here is the main day of the wedding.  This was  a quick milk ceremony as Boxy picks up Nisha to take her to Jamatkana.  The amazing Lolo was helping us with this wedding and she was with Boxy that morning.

Kristen was with Nisha!  I love this mirror shot.

Beautiful window light.

The milk

There was a lot of emotion at this wedding, love this shot!

From the Khoba Khobi!  This is the ceremony right after the marriage ceremony.  They make an entrance into the house and then fight over a coin in a plate of rice.  Whoever gets the coin the most, gets the upper hand in the marriage.

Before the reception.  Kristen never told me what was going on here.

Again with the window light!!

Time for some detail and decoration at the Westin!!

We stress about the importance of making time for bride and groom shots during a wedding.  It is even more important with a desi-wedding because there is often almost no time to do it during all the different ceremonies.

After the whole thing was over, probably after 1 or 2 in the morning, we talked them into shooting some more bride and groom shots!!

Now, we’re on to the Satara, the day where the bride says good bye to her family and leaves to be with the groom.  Needless to say there us a lot of crying.

And now the slideshow!

Crystal and Todd’s wedding!

I flew back from France to shoot Crystal and Todd’s wedding!  We actually had 2 weddings going on that day.  Crystal’s and Nisha’a .  Kristen was across town with Lolo photographing Nisha’s wedding, Dawn and I were taking care of Crystal and Todd.  Crystal came to us as a direct referral from Courtney, so we knew that this was going to be an awesome wedding.  It definitely didn’t disappoint.

Crystal got ready at The Georgian Terrace.

There is something about this image that I just like.

On the rooftop of the Georgian Terrace, it was so windy!  She didn’t stay out there for that long.  To be honest with you, I had visions of her veil flying off into the sky.

I’m in love with this shot.

A handwritten note from Todd!

Ahh…kids!!

Hands down, I think that Peachtree Christian Church is one of the most beautiful churches in Atlanta.

After the ceremony, time for a few quick images of the two of the together.

Then we went back into the church for some more images of the two of them together.  This isn’t something that I typically do, but I am so glad that I did.

My favorite shot from their wedding!!

The reception was held at The Wimbish House, a first time for us!

The beautiful flowers were done by my friend,  Christine from Perfect Petals and Design Group!

The first dance, love this!

The candy table!  I didn’t get any of it.  Not that I needed it.

And now the deserts.

The parting gifts were boxes of Krispy Kreme donuts.  Awesome!

All of Crystal’s sorority sisters got together for the circle song.

They even had time to let me play a bit.

Having fun while they were dancing!!

A slideshow with more images from the wedding.

Linn and Marius, the Loire Valley, France

In September, I headed over to France for a few weddings!  Linn and Marius had a very beautiful intimate wedding with just close friends and family.  They came all the way from Norway.  I would have loved to have gone there, maybe they have real winters there, instead of these horrible warm winters.  :-)

Here’s Marius!

Here’s my friend, Rene!!

He was doing Linn’s makeup.

Marius getting ready before the ceremony.  Love that light.

Jean Marie made this beautiful bouquet!!  He truly is the  best florist in the world.

Linn in the Romance suite before the ceremony.

I love Marius’ sister!  Best attitude ever, sassy, just the way I like ‘em!

Watching Linn  come down the stairs.

Awesome aisle runner for Chateau Challain!

Look at those expressions!!

I love playing in the light, especially with long veils!

Playing in the King’s room!

and the Pool table room.

and at the base of the Grand Staircase…

and outside.

I love the warmth of this image without the sun overpowering the image like so many photographers are letting happen to their images.

Now for the reception.  Cynthia always does such an amazing job!

The chef making final preparations for the dinner.

Look at Linn’s reaction!!

Linn during a moment in the speeches.

Watching a movie during dinner.

1st dance in b/w!

And for the last shot!
