I love being able to use creative light. What I mean by that is using light that you might not normally think of that would make good images. When I started, I brought studio lighting with me to weddings and we would fumble around with soft boxes and umbrellas. All the images end up looking the same and like what everyone else was doing. I ditched the studio lights and have now adapted my shooting to all types of lighting. I made it a point in 2008 to start learning how to use anything that I can find, kind of like a McGyver with light. This shot below was shot with a worklight I bought at Wal-Mart for $30 and a $5 flashlight. I think it’s a very stunning portrait of Meghan.
